Health Coach Conversations

Dec 31, 2018

For today’s episode of Health Coach Conversations, Cathy talks with Dr. Rhonda Cambridge-Phillip about being a doctor and a health coach, and why it’s important to her to do both. Rhonda shares the reason she went back to school to become a health coach and what it means to follow her calling.

In this episode, Cathy and Rhonda discuss the following:

  • What it means to be proactive about your health
  • The benefits of being a doctor and a health coach
  • Rhonda’s approach to self-care
  • Rhonda’s membership programs for getting healthy

As a traditional MD, Rhonda realized there was more of a focus on acute care instead of holistic care. From her experience, she also knew so many people wait until they develop symptoms to seek treatment and are reactive to their health instead of proactive. Rhonda decided being a physician and a health coach would allow her to enjoy the best of both worlds in giving her patients the best care possible. Her patients love how she presents both sides of health and wellness. Rhonda’s patients tend to understand the importance of self-care but need help with strategies and accountability, and she provides assistance with both. She reminds them to be gentle and kind to themselves and to love themselves in the process enough to stay healthy. She gives permission that it’s okay to take care of yourself, and teaches that if you take care of yourself, you have more to give to others. Instead of prescribing medications, Rhonda provides her patients with a structured, strategic, organized plan to follow so they can practice “extreme self-care” under “doctor’s orders”.

Goals for Self-Care

  • Focus on being proactive
  • Focus on being present in the moment
  • Allow time to explore what really works best for you
  • Focus on lifestyle changes that lead to healthy habits

In 2019, Rhonda is offering two new membership programs. Her Detox Membership focuses on detoxifying impurities and toxins not only from the physical body but from an emotional and spiritual aspect as well. The Detox program works on ways to clear your digestive, spiritual, and physical environment from negativity with noticeable results within just a week. The Natural Health Immersion Membership centers on holistic health and provides a slow and steady, natural approach to create long-lasting changes by completing simple tasks each day for an entire year.
